I'M NEW
We’re so pleased that you’re thinking about visiting us at PBC. Whether you’re new to the area and looking for a church to call home or exploring the Christian faith, we’d love to meet you.
We know that visiting a church for the first time can be daunting, so here is everything you need to know to make your visit as easy as possible.
VISITING US ON A SUNDAY
We meet every Sunday at 10:30am.
Our Sunday services are an opportunity for us to join together in worship, to connect with God and each other, to hear bible-based teaching and to pray for one another.
You can find us at 22 Park Lane, Poynton, Cheshire, SK12 1RE
The church building is situated on Park Lane, Poynton. There is a car park next to the church, where parking is free for only 90 minutes (every additional hour is £1). There are also plenty of free parking spaces at the Civic Centre next to Waitrose.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Doors open 30 minutes before the service starts and the service usually lasts about an hour and a half. We like to keep it informal, so there is no dress code, just come as you are.
We usually start with a time of worship for about 20 minutes, followed by a short welcome and highlights of what's coming up. All the words are on the screens so you can sing along if you would like to but there is no pressure to join in. We then have a talk based on The Bible and personal experiences of following Jesus, which are relevant to everyday life. At the end of the service, there is always an opportunity to be prayed for.
It's important to us that we make our Sunday church services accessible to everyone. The building is easily accessible and we have a loop system in place for those who require it.
KIDS' CHURCH AND ACCESS YOUTH
At our 10:30am service after 20 minutes, the Kids leave to join their own groups where they will have age appropriate games, worship and prayer. Our Youth Church happens on Sunday evenings at 18:30.
For those with babies, there is an area set out in our Clay Coffee House with mats and toys as well as a TV so you can stay connected to what is going on if you would feel more comfortable. Kids' Church is for ages 2 - 11 and Access Youth for ages 11 - 18.
All our volunteers are DBS checked and operate within our PBC Safeguarding Policy. If you would like a copy of this then please contact us at safeguarding@pbc.org.uk
To find out more about our young peoples work, please visit our KIDS' CHURCH and ACCESS YOUTH pages.
AFTER THE SERVICE
After each service we serve free tea and coffee, so make sure you stick around for a chat.
If you have any problems or questions, we have a host team who wear T-Shirts and are available to assist where possible.
EXTRA INFO
OFFERING
Each service we have an opportunity to give where a QR code is displayed on the screens that will take you to our giving page. If you would prefer to give cash, there will be buckets provided. No one is under any obligation to give and you are welcome either way. To find out more, please visit our GIVING page.
COMMUNION
Once a month we take communion as part of our service. This is where we share bread and wine as a reminder of when Jesus sacrificed His own life for us. This isn't compulsory and you are free to let the bread and wine pass by.
